Geonosian Lab

The Geonosian Lab — listed on several sources as the Geonosian Bio Lab — is the flagship Yavin IV group instance. Set inside an underground bio-engineering complex run by Geonosian researchers, it predates the Aurilia heroic system but is universally listed as heroic group content and is the canonical source of the Geonosian Power Cube, the Geonosian Sonic Blaster, and a roster of bio-engineer and droid engineer schematics.

The fight

The fight is the Geonosian Bio Lab, an underground complex on Yavin IV. Recommended combat level is 80+; faction is irrelevant. Restoration’s recommended group size is eight. The lab predates the Chapter 7 lockout system — it is a POI instance, but a clean clear typically takes 2–3 hours. Entry is via the lab door in the deep jungle of Yavin IV.

Group composition

The lab favors mixed-DPS rosters with two strong healers, because the Geonosian and Acklay roster pulls are aggressive and the underground geometry limits kiting:

• 1–2 tanks: a Jedi or Pikeman handles the named Geonosian Champions and the Queen’s escorts.
• 2 healers: Medic and Combat Medic are required for the long run.
• 3–5 DPS: Commando area-of-effect on Geonosian swarms is highly valued; Rifleman, Pistoleer, Carbineer, and Bounty Hunter fill the rest.
• Buff support: an Entertainer (Dancer or Musician) is recommended. Geonosian sonic weapons deal blast damage, and Acklay melee deals kinetic; weight buffs accordingly.

Strategy

The lab is structured in cavern-and-corridor segments leading to the Queen’s chamber:

• Outer caverns: Geonosian warrior pulls. Tight chokes; let them come to you.
• Acklay rooms: large kinetic-damage creatures. Tank holds; DPS focuses one at a time. They cleave.
• Research labs: named Geonosian researchers buff their escorts. Kill researchers first.
• Queen’s chamber: the final boss. The Geonosian Queen calls reinforcements on a timer; AoE on the reinforcements is critical, and the Queen herself drops the Geonosian Power Cube and the schematic shards.

Exact mechanics vary by patch — verify in-game. The lab is old content and the strategy lore is rich; pick a regular run-leader who knows the room order.

The Geonosian Lab is the canonical source of:

• The Geonosian Power Cube — used in high-end energy weapon crafting.
• The Geonosian Sonic Blaster — a powerful late-game weapon.
• Bio-engineer and droid engineer rare schematic shards.
• Geonosian-themed décor and vanity items.

The lab is regularly farmed on Restoration for its schematic pool; specific drop rates vary by patch.
