Yavin IV is the fourth moon of the orange gas giant Yavin and the jungle world where the Battle of Yavin was decided. After the Rebels abandoned their base, the planet quieted considerably, but it remains one of the three advanced wilderness worlds in SWG and one of the densest end-game content zones.

In the galaxy

Yavin IV reads as Rebel-leaning thanks to the historic Massassi Temple base and the persistent Yavin Rebel Base outpost, but the Empire has reoccupied the Massassi Temple in lore and maintains the Yavin Imperial Base as a counter-stronghold. The result is a planet where both factions have a credible foothold even though the wider jungle belongs to wildlife and ancient temple guardians.

Key locations

Yavin IV uses outposts in place of cities — the Imperial Base, the Labor Outpost, the Mining Outpost, the Rebel Base, plus the event-only Outpost GRF-7493 that appears during Empire Day and Remembrance Day. The temple POIs are the headline content: the Great Massassi Temple, the Temple of Exar Kun, the Temple of the Blueleaf, and Woolamander Palace. Beyond the temples, the Dark Jedi Enclave, the Light Jedi Enclave, the Geonosian Bio Lab, and the Death Star Wreckage at coordinates 5853, -336 fill out the explorable map.

Notable for

Yavin IV is the destination for the Geonosian Bio Lab heroic encounter — one of the canonical end-game group instances in SWG and a primary source of high-end loot. It is also a key Jedi-progression destination: the Force-sensitive enclaves and the Exar Kun temple tie directly into Force-user storylines. Player housing is forbidden, but factories and mining facilities are permitted, making Yavin IV a common harvester site for resources unique to the jungle ecosystem.
