Profession
Pistoleer
CombatPistoleer is the close-quarters specialist of the ranged combat tree. Where Rifleman snipes from distance and Carbineer holds mid-range, Pistoleer dances in close — fast attack speed, light footprint, and a toolkit built around softening enemies before finishing them.
Role
The profession’s primary role is close-range crowd control through Attacker Control debuffs. Damage output is intentionally weak, but the class shines when it sets the table: rooting targets in place, fanning multiple enemies, and disarming a focus mark. Defense is moderate; crowd control is rated strong. A well-timed Pistoleer chains Quickdraw, Stopping Shot, and Fan Shot into a sequence few opponents can recover from.
Skill tree highlights
- Quickdraw (Improved/Advanced) — fast-recycle base attack
- Fan Shot — cone hitting multiple targets in close range
- Stopping Shot — roots an opponent and applies minor damage
- Burst Shot — has a chance to stun multiple opponents
- Disarming Shot — causes the target to fumble their weapon
- Intimidate Shot — reduces opponent damage output
Mastery requires 136 skill points, 3,675,000 pistol XP, and 415,000 combat XP — meaning every kill counts twice when grinding.
Best trained at
Pistoleer trainers live in five cities. Corellia’s is in Tyrena; Tatooine’s in Mos Eisley; Naboo’s in Keren; Rori’s in Narmle; Talus’s in Dearic. The class pairs naturally with Smuggler or any defensive profession to round out a versatile combat template.
