Corellian Corvette
The Corellian Corvette is one of the most distinctive heroic instances in SWG — a multi-player pickup aboard a CR90 Corellian Corvette, the same Rebel blockade-runner class made iconic by the opening of A New Hope. Unlike Chapter 7 heroics, the corvette is older content with multiple Imperial, Rebel, and Neutral variants, each with its own escort or rescue mission.
The fight
The fight takes place aboard a CR90 corvette interior — an instance map of corridors, hangar bays, and bridge decks. Required combat level is approximately 75 (it pre-dates the CL90 standardization of Chapter 7 heroics). Entry is from Corellia, typically the Coronet starport. Group size is six to ten depending on variant. Unlike the Chapter 7 heroics, the corvette uses a per-mission timer rather than a one-hour lockout — the run is a single arc with a hard time limit.
How to start
Speak to the corvette mission terminal at the Coronet starport on Corellia. Faction-locked variants require Rebel or Imperial duty status; the Neutral variant is open. A pickup group forms at the docking gate and the corvette launches once full.
Group composition
Pickup-friendly composition that emphasizes mobile DPS and a single strong healer:
- 1 tank: a Jedi or Pikeman holds named officers; corvette trash mobs are aggressive but rarely require dedicated tank threat.
- 1–2 healers: one Medic or Combat Medic is the minimum; a second is recommended for the faction-locked variants.
- 3–6 DPS: every ranged class works — Rifleman, Pistoleer, Carbineer, Commando, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler. Corridor combat rewards Pistoleer mobility.
- Buff support: an Entertainer (Dancer or Musician) pre-buffs the group at the dock. Corvette weapons are predominantly energy-class blasters.
Strategy
The corvette runs as a series of objective-driven phases — variants differ but the general arc holds:
- Boarding action: stormtroopers (or rebels, depending on side) defend the docking corridor. Hold the entry choke and clear methodically.
- Hangar deck: secondary objective room — rescue a hostage, retrieve a cargo crate, or sabotage a system depending on variant.
- Corridor sweep: progress deck by deck toward the bridge. Officer NPCs buff the troopers; kill officers first.
- Bridge deck: the named captain fights from the bridge; mechanics vary by patch.
The time limit is the discipline mechanic. Splitting up to chase objectives in parallel is tempting but routinely causes wipes; pick a single objective per phase and finish it.
Rewards
The corvette rewards faction tokens for the faction-locked variants and credits for the Neutral run. Drops include the Corellian Corvette Token (used on Corellia for variant rewards), faction badges, and mission credits. Specific token values vary by variant — verify in-game.
