Marksman — placeholder image

Marksman is the ranged counterpart to Brawler — the on-ramp profession for players who want to fight with blasters at distance. Three of its four branches teach the basics of the major ranged weapon families, and the fourth focuses on mobility specials that work with any of them.

Role

The first three branches cover rifles, pistols, and carbines, with each tier unlocking accuracy bonuses and weapon specials such as Aimed Shot, Firearm Strike, and Placed Shot. The fourth branch — Ranged Support — adds Roll Shot, Dive Shot, Kip Up Shot, and Overcharge Shot, all of which combine ranged damage with positioning.

From Master Marksman a player can branch into Rifleman (long-range sniping), Pistoleer (mobile crowd control), Carbineer (area damage), or several hybrid professions that combine Marksman with Brawler or Medic.

Skill tree highlights

  • Aimed Shot — the iconic ranged opener, accuracy-boosted with the rifle line
  • Quick Draw and Burst Shot from the pistol line
  • Rapid Fire from the carbine line
  • Roll Shot and Dive Shot from Ranged Support — combat repositioning specials

Mastering Marksman requires 77 skill points and around 91,000 XP in each of the three weapon families plus combat XP earned alongside any kill.

Best trained at

Marksman trainers are widely available in every major city. Tatooine players commonly train in Mos Eisley or Bestine; Naboo in Theed or Keren; Corellia in Coronet. Smaller cities on Rori, Talus, and Lok host trainers for players grinding in those regions.
