Profession
Brawler
CombatBrawler is the entry point into melee combat in Star Wars Galaxies. New characters who prefer close-range fighting and traditional weaponry begin here before specializing into one of several elite melee professions.
Role
The Brawler tree introduces players to four weapon families: unarmed, one-handed, two-handed, and polearms. Each branch teaches its own set of melee specials — strikes, lunges, sweeps — culminating in a Master Brawler who has trained the basics of all four. From here, players typically branch into Fencer (one-handed), Swordsman (two-handed), Pikeman (polearms), or Teras Kasi Artist (unarmed).
Skill tree highlights
- Center of Being defensive stance, learned early in every branch
- Melee Strike — the universal cheap-to-train damage opener
- Lunge — closer special with a movement component
- Master Brawler title once all four branches are complete
Mastering Brawler requires 77 skill points and around 91,000 XP in each of the four weapon families plus combat XP earned alongside any kill.
Best trained at
Brawler trainers are common across starter cities — every major starport hub has at least one. Tatooine players typically train at Mos Eisley or Bestine; Corellia at Coronet, Kor Vella, or Tyrena; Naboo at Theed, Keren, or Moenia. Rori, Talus, and the Corellian villages also host trainers for players grinding in those regions.
