Krayt Dragon
The Krayt Dragon is the most fabled beast of Tatooine — a heavily armored reptile said to grow continually throughout its lifetime, crowned with five long horns and roaring across the Dune Sea. In Star Wars Galaxies it is the planet’s premier end-game hunting target and one of the longest-running crafting economies in the game.
Role in the galaxy
Krayt Dragons appear in escalating tiers: Adolescent (level 77), Canyon (levels 85-89, 120-138k health), Juvenile, and the legendary Ancient. All variants are aggressive, stalking, deathblow-capable bosses requiring full groups to kill safely. Like some real reptiles, krayts swallow stones that grind smooth in their gizzards — these become Krayt Dragon Pearls, gemstones so valuable they drive the entire end-game crafting economy. Pearls are used to power lightsaber crystals; the tissue is harvested for high-end weapon and armor schematics.
Where to find them
The canonical hunting ground is the Krayt Graveyard in eastern Tatooine’s Dune Sea, where multiple Canyon and Ancient spawns roam. Adolescent Krayts spawn near the Tusken Bunker at /way -1393 -403 for hunters working their way up. Group composition typically favors a Jedi tank, a Medic, and two to four ranged DPS.
