R.I.S. Armor
legendary
R.I.S. Armor — Reinforced Insulated Sheath — is a battle-class armor set that can only be crafted by Munitions Traders who have completed the master armorsmith questline given by the hermit Mol Ni’mai. Mol Ni’mai is located at /wp -6805 6022 in the mountains near the Abandoned Rebel Base on Dantooine.
How to acquire
The quest gates the schematic, and the schematic requires looted R.I.S. Armor Segment components for each of the nine armor pieces (boots, chestplate, gloves, helmet, matched left/right biceps and bracers, leggings). Standard crafting resources include Battle Armor Cores, Talusian Fiberplast, Chromium Aluminum, and Synthetic Cloth. The difficulty of the quest plus the rare looted segments together make R.I.S. one of the most prestige-coded armor sets in the game.
Why it matters
R.I.S. is the marquee armorsmith achievement — a set that announces both that the trader has finished the master quest and that the wearer has the credits or connections to afford it. It is one of the two or three armor lines that legitimately deserve the “legendary” quality tier.
Mitigation profile
| Damage type | Resist % |
|---|---|
| Kinetic | 70 |
| Energy | 65 |
| Blast | 65 |
| Heat | 55 |
| Cold | 55 |
| Acid | 50 |
| Electric | 50 |
R.I.S. has the strongest overall mitigation in the standard armor lines — no soft spot and the highest elemental coverage outside quest-locked sets. It edges out Mandalorian Armor in the primary slots (+5 kinetic, +5 energy, +5 blast) and significantly outpaces it in elemental resists (+10 to +15). The trade-off is the quest gate: where Mandalorian needs a Death Watch Bunker run, R.I.S. needs the Mol Ni’mai questline plus rare looted R.I.S. Segments per piece. Values are the canonical NGE endgame profile per SWG Fandom + SWGEmu wiki; experimentation can nudge high-end values.
