Dantooine is the purple-grass savanna world that most players visit after they have mastered a few professions on the starter planets. It is one of the first planets where new builders can place houses and factories, and it is also where the difficulty curve begins to bite.

In the galaxy

Dantooine is best known as the home of the Abandoned Rebel Base — the Alliance command center referenced in A New Hope, evacuated long before Yavin. In SWG that legacy gives Dantooine a soft Rebel lean, but the planet has no formal faction control: it is sparsely populated by three small outposts (Imperial, Mining, and Pirate) and the rest of the wilderness belongs to the primitive Dantari natives.

Key locations

The three outposts each have a spaceport and a minimal set of city amenities. Beyond them, the planet’s points of interest cluster around the Dantari villages, the Janta, Kunga, and Mokk strongholds, the Force Crystal Hunter’s Cave, the Jedi Temple Ruins, and the multi-floor Warren dungeon. The Abandoned Rebel Base sits in the northwest as the flagship questing landmark.

Notable for

Dantooine is the transition planet. Player housing is allowed, but the wilderness is meaningfully more dangerous than on the starter worlds — Bol, Graul, Quenker, and random Dark Jedi spawns make solo overland travel hazardous. Players come here for the Force Crystal hunting loop, the Warren, the Jedi Temple Ruins, and as a hunting destination between Tatooine/Naboo grinding and the advanced worlds of Dathomir, Endor, and Yavin IV.
