Tailor — placeholder image

Tailor is the Elite Artisan profession that dresses the galaxy. Where Armorsmiths handle protective plate, Tailors produce the everyday clothing, formal robes, hats, gloves, boots, and species- specific wearables that every player puts on between fights — and the clothing layer that goes under most armor sets.

Role

The profession leans on Clothing Assembly and Clothing Experimentation skill modifiers paired with hide, fiberplast, and synthetic-cloth resources. Most Tailor output is cosmetic, but high-end pieces grant small skill-modifier and stat bonuses through clothing attachments slotted into experimentation outcomes. The Tailor market is heavily demand-driven by Entertainer roleplayers, formal-RP events, and Image Designer collaborations.

Skill tree highlights

The tree splits into four branches:

  • Field Wear — Utility wear, pants, shirts, jackets, vests
  • Casual Wear — Everyday clothing, hats, gloves, footwear
  • Formal Wear — Robes, gowns, ceremonial wear, Jedi-style robes
  • Specialty Wear — Species-specific pieces (Wookiee fur ties, Trandoshan leathers), pilot suits, and rare-resource statement pieces

Mastery requires roughly 63 skill points beyond the Artisan prerequisite plus substantial Clothing Crafting XP. Experimentation mods determine how much bonus a finished piece can hold.

Best trained at

Tailor trainers live in shopping districts of major cities — Coronet and Kor Vella on Corellia, Theed and Keren on Naboo, Mos Eisley and Bestine on Tatooine. Cantinas and Entertainer districts often have Tailors stationed nearby for cosmetic upgrade pairings.
