Dathomir is the Outer Rim wilderness world widely regarded as the most dangerous planet in SWG. Its environment is jungle wrapped in fog, sunlight barely breaks the cloud layer, and travel — even by speeder — is not consistently safe. Only a handful of small outposts exist on the entire planet.

In the galaxy

Dathomir reads as neutral on the faction map because the dominant powers are local: the dark-side Nightsisters and the light-side Singing Mountain Clan, the two opposing witch clans whose conflict shapes the planet’s questing arcs. The Imperial Prison maintains a formal Imperial presence, but the Empire does not control the wilderness.

Key locations

The three outposts are the Imperial Prison, the Science Outpost, and the Trade Outpost. Beyond them, Dathomir’s POI list is one of the deepest in the game: Greater and Lesser Misty Falls, the Lesser Sarlacc, the Nightsister Stronghold, the Nightsister Forced Labor Camp, the Singing Mountain Clan Stronghold, the Nightspider Cult Cave, the Tar Pits, the Rancor Cave, the Mutant Rancor Cave, the Deserted Sith Shadow Camp, and the Township of Aurilia at the heart of the Quarantine Zone arc.

Notable for

Players come to Dathomir for Rancor hunts, Nightsister farming, and the witch clan quest lines. Aurilia anchors a major mid-to-high-level questing track tied to the Quarantine Zone (the legacy SWG plague event). Player housing is forbidden, but factories and harvesters can be placed. Even at end-game, Nightsister combat (level 77-90) remains threatening, making Dathomir a credible destination throughout a character’s progression.
