How to acquire

The medallion drops from Stormtrooper Commanders and other elite Imperial troops, particularly on Corellia, Naboo, and Tatooine where Imperial encampments host the densest concentration of high-level patrols. It is part of the same general loot pool that yields the Imperial Blaster Rifle, so dedicated Imperial-NPC farming runs tend to turn up both items.

Why it matters
