The Nightsister Headdress

The Nightsister Headdress is the pre-quest chain that keys a CL90 character into the Axkva Min heroic instance on Dathomir. It is widely considered the longest pre-quest of any SWG heroic — Fandom characterizes its scope as a small theme-park in its own right — and rewards the Nightsister Key of Exile, the literal physical key the group needs to enter the Rancor Cave instance below the Nightsister Stronghold.

How to start

The chain is offered out of the Aurilia Adventurers’ Guildhall on Yavin IV, where the Nightsister Elder is the first contact. From there the quest sends the player to Dathomir — the homeworld of the Nightsisters — to investigate a banished matriarch and recover the ritual headdress that grants access to the exile chamber.

Quest steps

The chain is dialogue- and travel-heavy rather than combat-heavy, with several escort and recovery legs:

• Speak with the Nightsister Elder in Aurilia to open the lore frame: who Axkva Min was, and why the modern Nightsister clans want her sealed away rather than freed.
• Travel to the Nightsister territories on Dathomir and recover the original headdress fragments scattered across multiple POIs.
• Assemble the headdress and return it to the Elder, who tunes it as the Nightsister Key of Exile.
• A short culmination leg confirms the key works on the chamber seal at the bottom of the Rancor Cave.

Because the chain crosses both Aurilia and Dathomir and includes multi-stage recovery legs, most groups run it in a single dedicated session per character — the per-character cost is steep enough that re-running it is a planned event, not casual content.

How it unlocks the heroic

Completing the chain awards the Nightsister Key of Exile. A keyed CL90 character can then enter the Axkva Min instance through the Rancor Cave entrance just outside the Nightsister Stronghold; the key is per-character, so each member of an eight-player group must complete the pre-quest before the group can clear together.

Rewards

The final reward is the Nightsister Headdress cosmetic plus the Nightsister Key of Exile that unlocks the heroic. The headdress is a wearable trophy in its own right, and the chain feeds directly into the Chapter 7 heroic token economy by gating entry to the Axkva Min Token of Heroism rotation.
