IG-88

IG-88 is the assassin droid from the original trilogy bounty hunter lineup, now the boss at the end of one of the four Chapter 7 heroic instances added to Star Wars Galaxies — alongside Axkva Min, the Tusken Army, and Aurilia. The Nym’s Factory Compound on Lok is a short, brutal instance that wipes inattentive groups in seconds.

Role in the galaxy

The heroic is unlocked via the Nym’s Slicer pre-quest. Inside, the factory is guarded at the entrance by elite level 90 protector droids, which the group can either fight or sprint past. The fight runs in four phases: a battle-droid wave kicked off by kicking the central mouse droid, four CL90 Gold Boss Droidekas, a mid-fight gauntlet, and finally IG-88 himself. He is famous for melting a locked-on tank in roughly three seconds — Jedi tanks have to keep moving and trading taunts to survive.

Notable features

Recommended buffs lean heavily on full energy protection because both the protector droids and IG-88’s own arsenal deal energy damage from flame throwers and rockets. Drops include the IG-88 Token of Heroism plus a rotation of schematics, vanity items, and factory-themed décor. The instance shares a 1-hour lockout with the rest of the Chapter 7 heroics.
