Exar Kun Token of Heroism

The Exar Kun Token of Heroism is the per-clear reward for completing SWG’s late-game flagship heroic — the descent into the buried tomb of Sith Lord Exar Kun beneath the Temple of Exar Kun on Yavin IV. It is the most prestigious of the heroic tokens, reflecting an encounter that pulls mechanics from every earlier heroic and layers new ones on top.

How to acquire

Every member of a group that successfully clears the multi-phase Exar Kun instance receives one token on completion. The encounter is gated by the Controlling Spirit pre-quest, entered through the Ancient Brazier in the Archeological Dig Site, and is widely considered the hardest sustained-healing fight in the game — Fandom recommends two medics as a standard composition.

Why it matters

Exar Kun tokens are spent at the Heroic vendor on top-tier Sith- and Force-themed rewards, including the marquee Two-Handed Fifth Generation Lightsaber. Because the instance is harder than the Chapter 7 heroics and was added later, the token is also a soft proof-of-progression flex: holding multiple Exar Kun tokens means the group has cleared SWG’s hardest scripted PvE content multiple times.
