Guild
Bounty Hunters Guild
<BHG>The Bounty Hunters Guild is the in-game organization every player who trains the Bounty Hunter profession joins by default. It is not a player-run guild — it is the game’s contract layer, the mechanism by which one player can take a mission to track and defeat another anywhere in the galaxy.
Role in the game
The Guild exists primarily as a system, not a place: every Bounty Hunter who reaches the appropriate skill box gains access to mission terminals that issue contracts on player marks, including the high-stakes contracts on flagged Force-using players (the “Jedi bounties” that dominated the late game). Lower-tier contracts target NPCs across Tatooine, Naboo, and the rest of the core worlds, and serve as the on-ramp for new Bounty Hunters working toward their first player kill.
Lore and faction posture
In Star Wars canon the Bounty Hunters Guild is the umbrella organization chartered to license, regulate, and discipline professional bounty hunters across the galaxy. It is famously neutral — members work for Imperial agencies, Hutt cartels, the Rebel Alliance, and private clients interchangeably, and the Guild’s enforcement is aimed at internal discipline (claim-jumping, killing the bounty before bringing them in) rather than at faction politics. SWG honors that posture: the in-game Bounty Hunters Guild takes contracts from every faction and never restricts a member to one side of the Galactic Civil War.
Joining and progression
Players join the Guild by training Bounty Hunter at any of the profession’s trainers — historically clustered on Tatooine and the outer worlds where the bounty economy is densest. Progression inside the Guild is tracked through the profession skill tree itself; there is no separate Guild ranking system in the NGE.
Where to start
Mos Eisley on Tatooine is the canonical starting point — the densest cluster of mission terminals, the highest foot traffic of marks, and the spiritual home of every bounty hunter in the Star Wars galaxy. Bounty Hunter trainers in the Mos Eisley starport will start a new character on the Guild path.
