New Player Tutorial

The New Player Tutorial is SWG’s onboarding quest chain — the very first content every new NGE character runs through. It plays out on Tansarii Point Station, a small space station hub designed to teach the basics of movement, combat, profession selection, and the in-game UI before the player is dropped onto the main galactic map.

How to start

Brand-new characters spawn directly on Tansarii Point Station at character creation. The first contact greets the player on arrival and walks them through the tutorial’s scripted sequence — there is no opt-in dialog, the chain begins automatically. Veterans creating alt characters can speed-run the tutorial or skip ahead to Mos Eisley once they have completed it on a previous character on the same server.

What the tutorial covers

The Tansarii Point Station tutorial covers every basic mechanic a new player will need:

• Movement, camera control, and the SWG combat targeting model
• Profession selection — the NGE’s nine-profession menu, picked during the tutorial
• Beginner combat against scripted encounters tuned to each profession
• Skill training from the in-station NPC trainers
• Inventory, equipment, and basic UI navigation
• The shuttle-and-starport workflow before the final flight to Tatooine

Where it leads

The tutorial closes with Han Solo shuttling the new character from Tansarii Point Station to Mos Eisley on Tatooine, where Vourk ver’Zemp opens the Legacy Quest — the NGE’s flagship leveling arc. C-3PO and Han Solo make cameo appearances as new-player guides in Mos Eisley, easing the transition from the controlled tutorial environment to the open galaxy. Completing the tutorial is a soft prerequisite for Legacy Quest — characters skip nothing in practice, since the spawn flow guarantees the tutorial runs first.
