Hero of Tatooine
The Hero of Tatooine quest chain is the planet’s signature solo hero arc — a long, dialogue-heavy series that takes a CL40 character across the Jundland Wastes, the Dune Sea, and several POIs as the player earns the Mark of Altruism, Mark of Honor, Mark of Courage, Mark of Intellect, and finally the Mark of the Hero. The unique reward is the Mark of the Hero ring, which can resurrect the wearer once every 23 hours, up to 50 times total.
How to start
The chain begins inside the Squill Cave at /way 48 -98 on Tatooine. Bear left at the cave entrance and travel to /way 10 -215, where the Hermit waits. The Hermit will only proceed if the player aligns with him philosophically — siding with the Empire ends the conversation. Agreeing that the galaxy needs heroes opens the chain.
Overview
The arc unfolds across four virtue-themed sub-quests, each rewarding one of the four Marks:
- Mark of Altruism — Find the Skull of a Squill (opens with the Hermit asking for proof of self-sacrifice).
- Mark of Honor — typically involves a moral choice between profit and ethics.
- Mark of Courage — a high-risk objective deep in hostile territory.
- Mark of Intellect — a puzzle or research sequence.
Completing all four virtue arcs grants the final Mark of the Hero badge plus the namesake ring.
Strategy tips
Although classified as a solo hero quest, several legs send the player into Krayt Graveyard or Tusken-controlled territory in the Dune Sea, so a CL40 minimum is the practical floor; many players run it closer to CL60+ to absorb the combat segments. The Mark of the Hero ring is one of the more useful low-tier panic-buttons in the NGE — its 50-charge limit is generous given how reusable it is over a character’s lifetime.
