Mustafar

Mustafar is the volcanic Outer Rim mining world introduced to Star Wars Galaxies in the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion. Its rivers of lava and obsidian plains belong to the canon Mustafar of Revenge of the Sith — the site of Anakin Skywalker’s fall to Vader — and the planet adds one of the most popular end-game quest chains in the game.

In the galaxy

Mustafar reads as Imperial-influenced thanks to its mining operations and the canonical role it plays in the Empire’s broader rise. There are no full Rebel or Hutt cities; instead, the planet is dotted with mining complexes, ancient ruins, and volcanic terrain that the Trials of Obi-Wan content turns into its quest map. There is no player housing on Mustafar, but the planet is freely travelable to any character meeting the level threshold.

Key locations

The Mustafar Mining Complex is the planet’s starport and main quest hub — where players first meet Obi-Wan Kenobi and receive the opening leg of the Champion of Mustafar arc. Beyond the complex, the explorable map includes Old Republic ruins, abandoned mining sites, and the central Mustafar Volcano that anchors the late arc. The final leg drops HK-47 as the boss carrying the YT-2400 deed.

Notable for

Mustafar exists primarily for the Champion of Mustafar epic quest chain, whose marquee rewards are the YT-2400 starship deed (certified for the Master Pilot box across all space professions) and the Jedi Master Cloak. The arc was substantially harder after Publish 29’s AI overhaul and is generally run as a full CL85+ group; because the final encounter is repeatable, guilds rotate runs so every member walks away with their own YT-2400 and cloak.
